Four rim strips are nailed to the deck of the outside edge of the pallet. Two of the strips measure 46″ x 1″ x .875″. The tube is attached to the pallet with two or four nylon tie straps. The ties are placed between the slats, around the bottom board of the tube and around the rim strip of the pallet. The tube is made of 30 hardwood slats measuring 5.5625″ x .375″ and 4 edge boards measuring 45.125″ x 2.75″ x .5625″ and four 39.125″ x 2.75″ x .5625″. Sixteen pieces of nylon strap are stapled to the slats so that one end is outside and the other end is inside the crate. They measure .75″ x 8″ and permit the crate to be folded flat for storage. For ergonomic reasons it is recommended that the overall height not exceed 24″ from floor to top of crate.
