Packaging Standards

Twelve covers are placed on the base with a 2″ x 2″ spacer board between each cover on both ends (total 22). The base is to be 4″ longer than the longest cover applied to it. It is constructed of two 4″ x 4″ x 11′ or 13′ length risers and two 2″ x 4″ x 11′ 4″ and 13’4″ length runners. Eight or ten 2″ x 4″ x 34.75″ deckboards and eight or ten 3″ x 4′ x 3.5″ filler blocks (5 sets) are nailed with 3″ resin coated nails to the runners. Two sets of deckboards are placed on the ends and the next inner two sets are located 39″ on center. Any remaining sets are equally spaced. Frames, including end cross members, are made of 2″ x 4″s and are used to protect the ends, middle, and corners of the product. To increase strength, a .75″ non-metallic band is placed around each frame and perpendicularly to secure the package to the pallet. Material is to be rough cut hardwood unless noted or the customer specifies otherwise.
