Packaging Standards

This package is made from hardwood material, and has a bottom frame made of three 4″ x 4″ stringers. On top of these stringers are three more 4″ x 4″ pieces running perpendicular to the bottom stringers, with 2″ x 4″ pieces running across the top of them at each end, and a 4″ x 4″ piece in the middle to support the pitch in the sheet. Each end consists of a 2″ x 6″ pieces that provide a lip to prevent the sheets from overhanging off of the pallet. When loaded, the package has two 2″ x 4″ uprights on each side that are nailed to 2″ x 4″ pieces running across the top of the lift. These are also wrapped with 1-1/4″ non-metallic strapping to prevent damage to the uprights while the product is in transit. There are also several small spacers between each of the sheets to allow for air movement. Although the package size can vary with the dimension of the sheet, the one shown has a height of 44-1/2″, a width of 46″, and a length of 116-1/2″.
